Star Lot: An original Mary Breach (b.1953-) Irish postwar / contemporary oil on canvas board painting titled 'Broad Meadow, Swords'. Signed bottom right by the artist and housed in a gilt and linen frame. Breach has a strong auction history with larger works fetching up to the early thousands at Whyte's.

During her early painting career Mary Breach was successful in The Royal Hibernian Academy, The Oireachtas and three solo shows in Dublin. She then had a five year block during which she filled the time with study and lots of travel. Soon after moving to Sneem, Co. Kerry (in 1997) Mary’s painting returned along with poetry.
