Star lot : An original watercolour on paper painting by artist Edward Tomkus (b.1936 - d.2020). This piece depicts a peaceful urban landscape featuring a river lined with charming brick architecture. Signed "Tomkus" bottom left and housed in a smart gilt wooden frame. A similar work sold for €300 at Whyte's Auction.
Edward Tomkus was a Scottish artist who works with oils, watercolours, charcoals and scraperboard. He is of Lithuanian descent and raised in Glasgow, Scotland. After travelling all over the world found himself a home in Ireland more than 30 years ago, whose beauty he has transformed to canvas.
