Stewart Lowdon (b.1932 founding member of the North Cornwall Seven Group of artists). A beautiful original Stewart Lowdon watercolour on paper painting titled 'Pier from above, Agia Marina, Leros'. Features a semi abstracted coastal Greek landscape scene as viewed from an aerial position. Signed bottom left and housed in a gilt frame behind glass.
Lowdon was born in Edinburgh and studied at the Edinburgh College of Art from 1950-54. He first came to Cornwall in 1957 to be the art master at Wadebridge after doing his National Service in the Army Educational Corps. He decided to work as a full time painter in 1975 and travelled extensively for inspiration. His work has been exhibited widely, especially in the West Country.
