Star Lot : An enchanting vintage original oil on canvas painting titled "Medina, Marakesh" by the artist Austin Doyle, dating to 1975. Features a view down an enticing urban street market rendered in soft brushstrokes in a rich palette of reds, greens, blues, oranges and browns. Signed bottom left and housed in an ornate gilt Chippendale style frame. Envelope to verso includes list of contemporary works by Doyle at the Sir Thomas Brown Gallery. Combridge framer's sticker to verso. Doyle has a strong auction history with works selling into the mid hundreds.

Austin Doyle is a contemporary Irish artist living and working between Ireland and France. Some years ago Doyle lived in Marrakesh and his deep understanding and passion for Moroccan culture is clearly visible here. He has exhibited widely in oil, watercolour and pen and ink.
