Leemputten was born in Werchter, Belgium in 1865 where he died in 1948. He was a painter of animals and landscapes. This Belgian artist worked in a meticulously “Realist” style- specialising in the depiction of birds and rustic scenes. He was the son of Jean-Baptiste Van Leemputten and pupil of Charles Verlat. Various exhibitions have been held of his works in the USA, Europe, England and the United Kingdom.
