Star Lot: Colin Middleton MBE (Irish, 1910-1983). An original Colin Middleton pen and ink drawing titled 'Francis Bunch Moran'. A quick pen sketch of artist Frances Bunch Moran, capturing her form with energetic, fluid lines. Signed lower right with 'Here she is' inscribed to lower left. Titled and dated 1972 to verso. Housed in a wooden frame behind glass. Middleton's work has a rich auction history with similar sketches fetching €600 at Whyte's.

Colin Middleton MBE (29 January 1910 – 23 December 1983) was a Northern Irish landscape artist, figure painter, and surrealist. Middleton's prolific output in an eclectic variety of modernist styles is characterised by an intense inner vision, augmented by his lifelong interest in documenting the lives of ordinary people. He has been described as ‘Ireland's greatest surrealist.’
