Star lot : A lovely original oil on board painting titled "Hazelhatch Halloween" by the Irish artist Norman Teeling dating to 2016. Features a view of two boats moored at the canal bank, rendered in thick impasto brushstrokes in a post impressionist style. Lovely observation of the effect of daylight on the water, the boat's hulls subtly reflected. Softer strokes used for the trees enhances the sense of depth in the image. Rendered in a palette of magentas, royal blues and forest greens. Signed bottom right and housed in a smart grey wooden frame. Teeling has a strong auction history with works selling well into the early thousands.

Norman Teeling was born on Dublin in 1944. He studies for a degree in Art and teaching from the National College of Art and Design. After teaching for 10 years, he worked as a background artist in animation films such as teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. He has 10 paintings depicting the Easter rising on permanent display in the GPO in Dublin.
