Star Lot: Matt Lamb (1932 – 2012) An intriguing abstract original Matt Lamb (1932 – 2012) oil on canvas painting titled 'Bawnishal' and dated '2006'. Features a rich coloured palette with vibrant and intense greens, reds and yellows. Rendered in Lamb's bold and energetic brushstrokes portraying a rugged, textural quality creating a tactile experience on the canvas. The painting characterises thick and gestural strokes in layers with brushes and palette knife techniques resulting in textured surfaces. Signed lower left. Written 'To Pat and Mary, Happy Xmas' to verso. Along with artist's name. Housed in a white wooden shadow box frame.

Matt Lamb is a well renowned artist with works fetching into the high thousands at Warren Gallery.

Matt Lamb was born in Chicago, Illinois, in 1932. In 1986, he opened his first painting studio in Chicago. Lamb decided to use his remaining time to spread his message of peace, tolerance, hope, communication, and love among men with his works of art. In 1988, he established two more studios in Florida and, in 1990, in Wisconsin. In 1994 Lamb became president of Midwest Patrons of the Arts, Vatican Museum, and director of Vatican Museum Foundation, New York, and opened a fourth studio in Mettlach-Tünsdorf. He opened a fifth studio in 2000 in Paris. Lamb died in Chicago on 18 February 2012. Lamb worked obsessively and prolifically in his studios in Chicago, Wisconsin, Florida, Ireland, France, Germany, and Argentina, and consistently to divided his artistic output between figurative, abstract, and semi-abstract modes.
