Star Lot: Theodore McNab (1940 - 2015) A stunning rare limited edition (9/32) screen print by Irish artist Theodore Macnab titled "Ireland" and dated to 1972. The abstract work features the Irish flag slowly being obscured by thick dark colour dripping down over it. The work is hand signed, numbered and dated by the artist. Slight crease to top. Theodore McNab (1940 - 2015) is a renowned artist, his auction history is extensive, selling in the high hundreds to thousands at Whyte's and Adam's.
Macnab is an award winning Dublin born artist whose abstract works explore time, perspective and light. Based on the Fibonacci progression, these are executed using gradations of colour overlaid on an original basic structure. His work is in the collection of the Hugh Lane, National Self Portrait Collection UL, UCD collection and more.
