Star Lot A charming original oil on board painting titled "Turfstacks Bogland Co. Donegal" by the Irish artist Norman Teeling. Features a West of Ireland landscape scene of rolling lavender hills, small thatched homesteads and large heaped stacks of turf in the foreground. Delicately rendered in subtle strokes and a soft palette of blue greys and golden ochres. Signed Teeling bottom left and housed in a white and gilt frame. Teeling has a strong auction history with works selling into the early thousands.

Norman Teeling was born on Dublin in 1944. He studied for a degree in Art and teaching from the National College of Art and Design. After teaching for 10 years, he worked as a background artist in animation films such as teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. He has 10 paintings depicting the Easter rising on permanent display in the GPO in Dublin.
