A pair of fascinating cobalt blue ovoid shaped moriage Satsuma vases, with hand-painted animated Japanese figural scenes of a maiden in counsel of wise elders in fine line work. Designed and painted in colours of green, red, orange, yellow, brown and blue with gilt decoration. Stamped "Made in Japan" to base. Both in good condition.
