Star Lot : A striking antique original oil on canvas painting showing a portrait of a proud woman dressed in a shawl and bonnet, gazing introspectively out of frame. Very artistically observed with lovely achievement of facial features and proportion. Rendered in an impressionistic style in a rich palette of reds, grey blues, off whites and browns. Inscription to verso reads Purser. It is probably the work by the renowned Irish artist Sarah Purser (b.1848 - d.1943) . Housed in an ornate antique moulded gilt frame.
