Super Star Lot - A framed original oil on board painting of the beautiful Cliffs of Moher, Co Clare by the artist Charles McAuley. This charming rural scene is depicted with a bright warm palette and features a vernacular cottage building to midground with an elderly dog walker enjoying the sunlit view of the cliffs. Signed bottom left C. McAuley. McAuley's works do very well at auction generally realising prices of between €2000 and €5000.
Charles McAuley (1910-1999) was born in Co. Antrim and is well regarded for his landscapes of the West and North of Ireland. His works are synonymous with the Glens of Antrim and he is held in esteem throughout the country as one of Ireland's finest landscape artists of the 20th century.
