Star Lot: William Henry Burns (1924-1995) A brilliant original William Henry Burns (1924-1995) oil on canvas painting titled 'Sketterick Castle'.
Features the titular Irish landscape with cottage houses and boats. Rendered in fluid and expressive brushstrokes in an earthy colour palette with browns, greens and soft blue greys. Signed lower left. Titled to verso. Housed in an ornate gilt frame.
William Henry Burns is a well known artist with works fetching into the hundreds at Whyte's.

A Belfast born artist, Burns received no formal art training. He painted regularly along the Lagan and in Connemara, Antrim and Donegal. During his career Burns had three solo exhibitions in the gallery formerly run by E. Walker & Co., Coleraine, and is represented in the UTV Art Collection.
