Star Lot: A dynamic original limited edition (8/20) Terence Gravett (British, b.1938) screen print titled "Permissible Tension." Features two figures in an abstracted composition of rendered in contrasting tones of red and blue. Signed , titled and editioned to base. Housed in a high quality white washed pine frame. Gravett sells very well in the primary market and has a good auction history with works fetching into the mid hundreds.

Terry Gravett studied painting in London. In 1990 Gravett moved to Northern Ireland where he was awarded Printmaker in Residency with the Arts Council of Northern Ireland. Exhibitions have included a solo show at Belfast Print Workshop Gallery (2011); group shows at Original Print Gallery (2009, 2005, 1996); First International Triennial of Graphic Arts, Sofia (1995); and a group show at Rubicon Gallery, Dublin (1994). Gravett was commissioned by The Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon to produce work for the touring school show ‘Altered States’ (1995). His work is represented in the collections of The Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon, Victoria & Albert Museum, Ulster Museum, Belfast and Arts Council of Northern Ireland.
