Jan Naezer is a famous Dutch artist. He has his studios in Nieuwegein and The Hague. His etching are the most important part of his work. Later the watercolor technique became an important part of his work. The etchings are characterized by a rich variety of graphic contrasts that are in balance with each other. His earlier prints were only black and white, during a stay in Berlin he introduced the chine and collé technique. With this technique a thin piece of colored paper is glued in the printing process during printing. Later he used the surface of the etching plate for printing color.
Naezer is not a traditional water color painter. Just like the graphic work, contrasts and color spots are self-evident in relation to each other. The abstract images of his graph are reflected in the watercolors.
