A super chromolithograph of John Watson (Master of the Meaths) originally from a portrait by Cecil E. Cutler 1904. John Watson (1858-1908) took up the Meath Hounds in 1891 after Lord Fingall's resignation. The kennels were at Bective. An inspired huntsman, he took particular interest in the breeding of hounds and introduced structure from England and Ireland that made the Meath' a pre-eminent pack.
Housed in a wood and gilt frame behind glass.
