Star Lot: A large and vibrant original John Nolan (Irish, contemporary) oil on board painting titled "Yellow Irises" dating to 2002. Features a still life study of oranges and irises rendered in bold delineated forms in an intense and opaque palette of oranges and yellows. Signed and dated bottom right and housed in a high quality pine wood frame. Official artist stamp to verso. Nolan sells very well both in the primary and secondary market with works fetching into the early thousands at auction.

John Nolan was born in Dublin in 1958 and lives and works in Dublin. He is a second-generation artist, having been exposed to art from an early age by his father. Over the past 40 years John has established himself as an international artist whose work is characterized by his use of vibrant colour. As an artist he has worked with fellow artists, poets, musicians, designers, on various commissioned artworks. In 2016 he started working with a fashion designer in Canada, his stylised motifs are being reproduced on their fabrics. An international cruise company commissioned his artwork for one of their ships which was launched in June 2016 on the Danube. In addition to teaching adult painting classes, John also participates in special projects at several elementary schools in the area. His work is easily recognizable, and is known throughout Ireland and internationally, having been exhibited in many countries.
