Nikolay Sokolov was born in Murmansk, former Soviet Union, in October 12th, 1966. From 1985 to 1990 he studied classical guitar in music college in St. Petersburg (Leningrad). At the same time he attended the University of Hermitage where he studied the History of Western Modern Arts as well as the History of Russian Avant Garde. Since May 1995, the artist lived in Seattle, Washington, USA, where he profoundly devoted himself to art. From 1999, Nikolay lives and works in Prague.
