A fantastic very large original antique late 19th century photograph of a gentleman in his Sunday best, hand resting on an ornate wooden chair. The work has hand painted details, a practice commonly used to bring out sharper details that could not yet be rendered with photography, seen most easily in the hair. The unusual double frame is particularly high quality, also dating to the 19th century with velvet inset and gilt ornament.
