Features 35 large coloured botanical plates by watercolour artist Susan Sex with accompanying text by Brendan Sayers. Signed by artist and author. This magnificent limited edition grew out of a set of 35 beautiful watercolours by Susan Sex recording Ireland's orchid flora. The plate notes for each plate includes scientific and common names (English and Irish), description and details of variability, life cycle, habitat and conservation status, augmented with notable and anecdotal points about the plants. Each of the twenty-eight species growing in Ireland is included along with their distinct varieties and subspecies. Held in original folio all in good condition.
