Star Lot: A lovely original oil on canvas painting titled "Lilacs and Jug" by the prize-winning Irish artist Margaret Kennedy. Features the titular scene, with wonderfully rendered flowers contrasting the the texture of the jug. This still life is an unusual subject for Kennedy, but no less artfully rendered than her preferred subjects.

Margaret Kennedy is a contemporary prize-winning Irish artist. She spent many years working in the equestrian environment, which enables her to extract great detail, movement and personality of her subjects in her paintings. She works in a realistic manner, paying special attention to detail and form and emphasis on composition and the incredible effects of the juxtaposing of light and shade. Her work is represented in many private collections in Ireland and abroad, and has participated in a number of group exhibitions. More recently, Margaret has become a successful author, with her first book "Mr. Luggie Tatters" being published in 2006.
