Star Lot: A large antique original Lucien Marcelin Gautier (French, b.1850 - d.1925) etching featuring a landscape study of an Italian town as viewed from the river. Dates to 1886. Hand signed in pencil bottom right. Housed in a lacquered wood frame with DeVeres sticker to verso. Gautier has a good auction history with works fetching into the early hundreds.

Lucien Gautier was an etcher and designer born in Aix-en-Provence. He studied art under Marius Reynaud, followed by studies in Paris with Léon Gaucherel.
