Star Lot : A pair of very early 17th century smaller standing wooden figures of the Amida Buddha. The face has a serene expression, with closed eyes under delicately arched brows and a severe face. The drapery is folded in elegant pleats falling from the shoulders to the feet. The taller example is missing both hands. Property of Mathew Hardy Seiko, Infamous Japanese antique dealer.
