Star Lot - A beautiful example of an antique 119th century writing box. Opening to reveal a perpetual calender, quills, matching original inkwells and an ebony rolling rule. Crafted by Cormack Brothers Makers of 37 Ludgate Hill, London. Finished with a tooled leather inlay and a beautiful burl walnut top. Finally sporting a engraved brass cartouche reading ''Presented To Mr Patrick Sutton By His Brother Officers Of Her Majesty's Customs Of The Port Of London As A Mark of Respect And High Esteem, Gravesend, March 1880''.
