Super Star Lot: A remarkable antique Bokhara Silk Suzani Tapestry. Handwoven by Ubzec women from the Bokhara region of Uzbekistan, circa 1890. Features the centre field with floral sprays and a horizontal bouquet, main border with large flowerheads with narrow guard border. With four panels of cotton individually embroidered in silk and rejoined with stich in chain, double chain and Bokhara couching technique. In lovely shades of soft pinks teal green and blues. Comes with original Certificate of authenticity. A wonderful wall piece with top mounted on a wooden beam. With A signed cert from Well known Irish Rug Expert Peter Linden. sold 1999, From the super house in Idrone Terrace Blackrock. Peter Linden very sadly passed away in July this year and was an absolute legend in the irish Rugs and Carpets scene. His certified items are highly prized. MM: 140 x 98 cm
