Star Lot : An amazing example of an unusual African tribal Tanzanian Makonde Lipico helmet/mask With large elephant ears and striking features I think this is the star of the show and would have belonged to a tribal chief. Inhabiting the southeast of Tanzania and the northeast of Mozambique are the Makonde, divided into matrilineal clans, each one comprising several villages. They survive economically from farming and cattle rearing. The mask is used in initiation ceremonies, serving as expressions of the moral code. There is a video of the lot on our social media pages on Facebook, Instagram and tic tok.
