A fantastic original lino cut block print by the renowned artist Hellmuth Weissenborn (b. 1898 - d. 1982). Features the form of blooming flower in tones of magenta pink, sky blue and deep purple. Signed bottom right and housed in a vintage frame. Weissenborn has good auction history with works in both private and public collections. Similar block print works have sold for in the mid hundreds.

Painter and wood-engraver, Hellmuth Weissenborn was born Leipzig in 1898. He studied at the Academy of Graphic Art, Leipzig and took a Phd at the university, taught there and emigrated to London in 1938. He then interned for six months at Hutchinson Camp on the Isle of Man, taught at Ravensbourne College of Art, Kent, and worked from a studio in Kensington. He founded The Acorn Press with his wife. His work can be found in the collection of V&A London.
